By Plane:

The airport is located to the west of Kraków, at a distance of 11 km from the city centre. The airport can be easy reached from the center of Kraków (Railway Station - Dworzec PKP) by four different ways:

train (preferred;  travel time app. 15 min; ticket fare: 4.00* PLN); available from ~ 4 am to ~ 1 am  See timetable:  http://www.lotnisko-balice.pl/strona,Passenger,5_Pasazer,train.html

bus 208 or 192 (travel time app. 35-40 min; ticket fare: 2.5 PLN* per person + 2.5 PLN* for each item of luggage bigger than: 60 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm); available from ~ 5 am to ~ 11 pm   192 - from Krakowska Szkoła Wyższa, through Railway Station, Plac Matejki, AGH and the Cracovia Hotel to Airport Krakow-Balice 208 - from Nowy Kleparz, through the Miasteczko Studenckie (Students' Town) and Balicka Street to Airport Krakow-Balice

By train:

From all larger cities in Poland, e.g. the journey by InterCity train from Warsaw takes only 2.5 hours.

Apart from local transport systems, Krakow also has direct railway links with Berlin, Budapest, Bucharest, Hamburg, Kiev (from June to August trains also run to Odessa), Lviv, Prague, Vienna, Żilin. All trains stop at the Main Railway Station.
